PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The TrailBlazers will have a new look when the 2012 season gets under way.

The team unveiled a new alternate red uniform Monday. The Blazers will wear the new uniforms for the first time for the first game of the season Oct. 31 against the Los Angeles Lakers at the Rose Garden.

This is the first uniform redesign for the Blazers since the 2002-2003 season. The alternate red jerseys and shorts are expected to be used eight to 10 games this season.

The jerseys feature the team's trademark pinwheel under the neck line, while the back of the shorts include a "Rip City" logo.

The uniforms are made of Adidas' Revolution 30 material and are produced from 60 percent recycled fabric.

Fans can buy the jerseys online through Oct. 3 exclusively at trailblazersfanshop.com and the Trail Blazers Fan Shop.

The Blazers are encouraging fans who attend the opening night game to wear red in the Rose Garden and match the colors the team will be wearing on the court.
