PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A man facing attempted murder charges after being shot by police has been identified.
Police said Joshua Baker, 27, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the officer-involved shooting at around 4 a.m. Saturday.
Police were called to the Hathaway Apartments, 3320 S.E. 134th Ave., and found a man who had been shot. Vadim Kobenko, 38, remains in critical condition Monday at a local hospital.
Police said Baker took off in a truck. The suspect lost control while speeding, according to investigators, and crashed into a fence at Northeast 148th and San Rafael.
At least one shot was fired at the suspect, but police said he still refused to comply with their commands. A SERT team was called out and took Baker into custody and to the hospital.
He was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center Monday and charged with assault, attempted murder and domestic violence.
Officers Erik Strohmeyer and Garry Britt have been identified as the officers involved in the shooting.
