SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Marion County deputies arrested two people after recovering a stolen car in Salem.

It happened at about 9:10 a.m. Monday on Caplinger Road.

Deputies said Jennifer Dalbey was driving a stolen 1991 Honda Accord.

A check on the license plate revealed that the car was reported stolen earlier in the day, according to investigators.

Deputies arrested Dalbey, 26, of Keizer, as well as a passenger, Robert Cooper, 30, of Salem.

Investigators said they found a number of items inside the stolen car: shaved car keys, latex gloves, and cordless drills used to steal cars.

They also found a police scanner used to monitor deputy activities.

Dalbey and Cooper drove the car to the Marion County Court annex on Aumsville Highway to support a friend at a 8:30 court appearance, Deputies said.

Dalbey was due in the same court at 10 a.m. to face theft charges.

Investigators said both Dalbey and Cooper have extensive criminal histories.

Deputies booked Dalbey on charges of unlawful use, entry and possession of a stolen vehicle.

They charged Cooper with unlawful use and entry into a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools and a parole violation.

A second passenger was later released without charges after deputies decided she had merely accepted a ride, not knowing that the car was stolen.

Dalbey and Cooper were due in court Tuesday at 3 p.m.
