SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A concerned customer reported someone suspicious near a Salem 7-11 store and it led to the arrest of a wanted felon.

Christopher Moody, 24, was wanted on a warrant for carrying a concealed weapon and criminal trespassing.

A customer at the 7-11 on Lancaster Drive in Salem called police Monday night to report someone getting in and out of a car and looking into the business several times.

The caller said the man was acting very suspiciously and appeared to be casing the store to rob it.

Deputies stopped the car, a Ford Mustang, on nearby Meadowlawn Drive Southeast at 10:20 p.m.

The passenger was identified as Moody, but deputies said he initially tried to give investigators a false name and birthday.

After confirming his identity, Moody was arrested.

Deputies discovered a loaded gun in the glove box of the car. The serial number had been filed off of it.

The driver of the car was cooperative with deputies and said she had only recently met Moody and was giving him a ride. She was released without facing any charges.

Deputies praised the initial caller for stopping a potential crime.

Moody is charged with the crimes from his warrant, as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm, giving false information to police and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.
