Investigators say thieves may be targeting toilets for scrap metal in Woodland and Longview.
On Sept. 30, police say someone stole toilet handles and metal piping from four restaurants.
Toilets and urinals at Muchas Gracias, Dairy Queen and McDonald's were all hit.
Then on Tuesday, it happened again.
Police in Woodland said metal parts were taken from the bathroom at McDonald's, 1601 Pacific Ave. The same thing happened that same day at Longview's Royal Buffet, 3061 Ocean Beach Hwy., according to Longview police.
In the initial cases police believe the thief went into the men's bathroom, locked the door and used a wrench to take the toilets apart.
Officers note the thief turned the water off first before tearing apart the plumbing, signaling they knew what they were doing.
Investigators are now comparing surveillance video from the restaurants hoping to identify a suspect.
Each toilet will cost about $200 to repair.
