PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The Salvation Army's 18th annual "All About Kids" dinner event raised more than $275,000.
It happened Sept. 25 at the Oregon Zoo Cascade Crest Ballroom. Men, women and children participated in this year's theme of "My Story."
They shared how The Salvation Army has positively affected their lives.
The Portland-metro coordinator for the organization said their testimonies made the difference in raising $50,000 more than the previous year.
Longview Fibre received the "Community Partner Award" for their years of providing thousands of cardboard boxes used to distribute food to clients. Atiyeh Brothers received an award for their longtime service and support of The Salvation Army's programs, especially at Christmastime.
