Volunteer opportunities for 'Stand Together Week'

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Timbers and Fox 12 are standing behind "Stand Together Week."

Stand Together Week is an initiative bringing the community together to support nonprofit project and volunteer opportunities throughout the city.

They range from youth activities to outdoor maintenance and construction projects. In total, Stand Together Week will bring together nearly 1,000 volunteers, including Timbers players.

"The community's given us so much as players, they give meaning to what we do on the field," he said. "So for us to be able to step out there and help out so they can enjoy it, as well as future generations of this city, it's a meaningful project for us," Taylor said.

To volunteer for one of the Stand Together Week projects or for more details on the overall initiative, go to www.portlandtimbers.com/StandTogetherWeek.

Along with Fox 12 and the Timbers, other local partners include Adidas, Alaska Airlines, Fred Meyer and Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors.
