Portland police seek driver who hit bicyclist

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police said they responded to report of a hit-and-run crash involving a car and a bicycle Wednesday around 9 p.m. The crash happened at Northeast 104th Avenue and Northeast Weidler Street.

Officers arrived and found the cyclist, 48-year-old Brian Lyons of Happy Valley, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

The man told police he was riding his bike westbound on Northeast Weidler in the bike lane when a westbound car turned into him then continued northbound on Northeast 104th Ave.

The bicycle rider was hit by the car and went over the hood and down onto the ground. Medical personnel transported him to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Subaru or Honda, possibly 2004 or 2005 model, four-door hatchback, with a tail or spoiler on the rear.
