PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Portland Police responded to calls of a stabbing Thursday night on Northwest First Avenue and Couch Street.
Officers and medical staff found 28-year-old Richard Dale with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his back. The victim told police the stabbing happened in Waterfront Park.
Police found a crime scene there, and recovered a knife that may have been used in the attack.
The victim described the suspect as a young white man in his early 20s, about 5'5'', short buzz cut, wearing gold pants and a blue backpack, possibly homeless.
Police are checking both sides of the Willamette River for anyone matching that description.
