Missing woman found dead in Warm Springs

WARM SPRINGS, OR (KPTV) -

The FBI and Warm Springs police found the body of a missing woman in a remote area of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation on Friday morning.

Faron Kalama, 30, a tribal member, was reported missing earlier this week.

In addition to finding her body, Warm Springs police arrested two women on charges of assault, battery, kidnapping and sexual assault related to Kalama's disappearance. The suspects, Tana Lawrence and Angeledith Kalama, are both tribal members and are being held in a tribal detention facility.

The pair may face federal charges in the future, the FBI says.

Investigators said there's no indication that Kalama's death is connected to the death of Jonas Miller, whose body was found on the reservation earlier this week. Warm Springs police and the FBI are continuing to investigate Miller's death as a homicide.

Meanwhile, an autopsy has been scheduled on Kalama's body to determine her cause of death.
