WOODBURN, OR (KPTV) -

A Marion County grand jury unanimously found three Woodburn police officers were justified in using deadly force against Librado Perez-Sanchez.

The district attorney's office said Cpl. Shawn Hershberger, Sgt. Andron Shadrin and officer Tom Courson were called to the area of 1100 Fifth Street in Woodburn Sept. 28. There were multiple reports of a man firing a gun and pointing it toward people on the street and passing drivers.

The officers said Perez-Sanchez was in his driveway when they arrived and a confrontation occurred, leading to them shooting their weapons.

None of the officers were hurt. The suspect was shot once and taken into custody. He was taken to the hospital and underwent treatment for a gunshot wound. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Perez-Sanchez was released from the hospital Thursday and taken to the Marion County Jail on $1 million bail.

The grand jury indicted Perez-Sanchez on charges of unlawful use of a weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 10.
