LAKE OSWEGO, OR (KPTV) -
A Lake Oswego police officer heard a strange noise coming from his motorcycle just moments before it burst into flames.
According to investigators, the officer was performing a traffic stop at about noon on Sunday at the intersection of McVey Avenue and Laurel Street when he heard the strange noise.
He then looked over and noticed flames coming out of the front of the bike.
The officer quickly grabbed his radar gun and saddle bags, but it was too late.
By the time firefighters arrived two minutes later, the bike was completely engulfed, police said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
