A man found dead behind an Oregon State University fraternity house died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Corvallis police.
The man was a student, said Steve Clark of OSU.
His name is not being released until investigators notify his family.
The man was found in a parking lot between several buildings, including the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity on NW Harrison Boulevard.
Police were called out to investigate around 5 p.m. Monday.
Clark said he did not know if the student was a member of the fraternity.
The school will provide counseling to the student's friends and teachers, he said.
Police said there is no reason to believe anything criminal took place.
