GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -
A kitten found trapped in a bucket is getting closer to finding his forever home.
Back in July, Gresham police officers found a bucket taped shut at the intersection of 187th Avenue and Stark Street. The officers found one kitten alive inside the bucket, but four others had died.
Over the past three months, a foster family has nursed the surviving kitten back to health.
On Wednesday, he'll be ready for adoption at the Multnomah County Animal Shelter.
The cat was named Charlie by shelter staff.
"Charlie is a fighter, he was so sick the first two weeks he didn't even gain weight," said Shelley Laird, the foster mom for Charlie. "Now he is a healthy, rambunctious kitten with no fear."
