WALLOWA, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police said a log truck driver was going too fast when he crashed into a guardrail and spilled logs on Highway 82.

It happened at 11:40 a.m. Monday west of Wallowa. The crash closed Highway 82 at Minam Canyon for more than four hours.

Investigators said Nicholas Perkins, 23, of Pendleton was behind the wheel when the truck rolled onto its side at a sharp curve, damaging more than 100 feet of guardrail. The logs spilled onto the shoulder and some went down an embankment.

Perkins was taken to Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police are investigating but no citations have been issued.

The highway was reopened at 4 p.m. Monday.
