PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
An elderly woman who was severely burned in a fire at her north Portland home has died from her injuries.
A spokeswoman from Legacy Emanuel Medical Center says 80-year-old Eunice Crowder passed away Wednesday.
Crowder's home off North Trenton Street went up in flames just before 3 a.m. Friday. Fire investigators blame a heating pad being placed under a pillow as the cause of the fire.
Firefighters told FOX 12 the home was cluttered, and they were having a difficult time getting to the area where the fire was burning. They were eventually able to reach the fire and get the flames out.
Crowder was taken to Legacy Emanuel in critical condition but did not survive her injuries.
Damages to the home are estimated at $37,500.
