Interstate bridge bike/pedestrian path closed for electrical repairs

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The bicycle/pedestrian path on the southbound span of the Interstate Bridge will be closed until next week for a repair project.

The Oregon Department of Transportation said the gate that protects bike and pedestrian traffic during bridge lifts is currently inoperable because of electrical problems. Cyclists and pedestrians may use the path on the northbound span of the bridge as a detour.

ODOT hopes to have the repair finished and the path open by the middle of next week.
