Portland mayoral candidate Jefferson Smith is cutting back on his ad campaign just weeks before the election.
The campaign has reduced the television advertising buys by $50,000.
That is a quarter of TV time the campaign purchased on Oct. 1, the day before news broke of Smith being charged with misdemeanor assault for hitting a woman in 1993.
Smith's campaign manager says they are going to focus on reaching out to voters who aren't reached by traditional TV advertisements.
This news comes just days after the Portland Police Association, the Portland Fire Association, and "The Mother PAC" withdrew their endorsements of Smith.
