PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Portland police are investigating a report that a TriMet bus driver exposed himself to a female passenger.
It allegedly happened Friday night on Route 9, the line that serves Powell Boulevard in southeast Portland.
"I've always been nervous of her being out at night like this, but I never would have thought a bus driver would be involved in something like this," said Wayne Hortona, the victim's husband. The victim did not want to speak about the incident publicly.
Hortona said his wife, who he declined to name, was the only passenger on the bus when the driver – who she had never seen before – started making verbal sexual advances.
"After she had asked him to leave her alone and she had asked to get off the bus, he wouldn't let her off the bus and he took her to the end of the line," Hortona said.
Hortona said the driver exposed his genitals when the bus reached the end of the line. He said his wife continued to deny the advances and pleaded to be let off the bus, a request the driver eventually granted.
"It's really bad, really bad," Hortona said about his wife's emotional state. "She can't stop crying and she won't go anywhere."
Hortona said wants the man to be punished.
TriMet declined to comment other than to acknowledge that it, too, is investigating. The name of the driver has not been released because he hasn't been arrested, Portland police said.
