SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A man caught on camera at a Salem store took off with a stolen wedding ring.

The crime happened at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Fred Meyer Jewelers, 3740 Market St. N.E. Police said the man went into the store and asked to look at various jewelry items.

As the clerk was showing him a wedding ring set, the man put the ring onto his finger and then ran out of the building.

Police said he got into a white pickup that was waiting in the parking lot. The truck may have been occupied by two white men, according to investigators.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s, standing around 5'10" tall with short black hair and the outline of a playboy bunny on his left forearm, along with other unknown tattoos on his right arm.

He said his name was Mike, but it's not known if that's his actual name.

If you know anything about the case, call police at 503-588-6050, ext. 7164.
