VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A 19-year-old man is facing several charges following a chase involving a stolen car.

Vancouver Police attempted to pull over Levi Verstegen around 2 a.m. Monday after he ran a red light at the intersection of NE 63rd St. and Andresen, Clark County Sheriff's deputies said.

Verstegen refused to pull over and hit the gas, investigators told FOX 12, leading police and deputies on a chase that ended in the 8900 block of Padden Pkwy.

The suspect tried to run away from law enforcement, but Vancouver police officers captured him, deputies said.

According to investigators, the car Verstegen was driving had been stolen from an apartment complex in Orchards on Oct. 21.

Verstegen faces charges including possession of stolen property, attempt to elude and auto theft.
