A missing man has been found dead in his van in a parking lot near the Ross Island Bridge.
Portland police found Roger Frank, 57, at 633 SE Powell Boulevard Tuesday. He had not been seen or heard from since Saturday.
Frank worked at Portland Community College as a counselor for 25 years.
Frank's wife said he went to Blitz Sports Pub at Southeast 11th Avenue and Sherman Street to play ping pong. Investigators say about 1:45 p.m. Frank left the bar and made a phone call. After that, his whereabouts were unknown.
His wife said he had a spinal cord injury and used a wheelchair and a specially customized van, but he was otherwise healthy and self-sufficient.
Police said there is no evidence of foul play.
Detectives, criminalists from the forensic evidence division and the medical examiner responded to conduct a death investigation.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner is consulting with other medical professional regarding Frank's medical history.
PCC issued this statement to FOX 12 late Tuesday after learning of his death:
"A PCC counselor for 25 years, Roger has been a fixture in our lives and those of the many students he has helped to guide and support at PCC. As we learn more from Roger's family about the support they need from the PCC family, we'll keep you informed. For tonight, just keep them in your thoughts, and if you are so moved, use this forum to share the memories we have about this good man."
