SILETZ, OR (KPTV) -

Two men accused of breaking into a Siletz home and assaulting the homeowner are now behind bars.

Police arrested Jose Pablo Torres, 23, and Armando Aranda, 42 Thursday after searching their Newport homes. Officers also found about a half pound of methamphetamine, cash and several guns including an assault rifle.

On Monday morning, Toledo police responded to a reported burglary at the Siletz Trailer Park on Southwest Ferry Avenue. A man told officers at least three Hispanic men broke through a sliding glass door and assaulted him before running off. He also reported that one of the men had a handgun.

Investigators determined the incident was drug-related. The Oregon State Police SWAT Team helped execute the search of both homes.

Torres and Aranda were taken to the Lincoln County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree theft, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, criminal mischief and menacing.

Drug-related charges are pending for Aranda. The investigation is continuing and police say there may be additional arrests in this case.
