LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -
Drivers in Longview, Washington got a big discount on gas thanks to a candidate running for the state house.
Tim Sutinen told Fox 12 that he wanted to thank the community for their support by taking $.50 of 4,000 gallons of gas.
The average price for a gallon of regular is about $3.92, about the same as it is in Oregon.
The Texaco on 11th Avenue in Longview sold it for $3.39 Thursday morning.
Sutinen said he would like to see gas at $.50 or even $1 cheaper in the area: "One evening, had a little talk with friends and figured out what would be a good way to spend some money that we had left over in the campaign till, so this was the idea and we thought it was a good idea."
Sutinen is an independent running for Washington State representative.
