PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A man hit by a car and killed on the Hawthorne Bridge Sunday is believed to have been watching his wife participate in dragon boat races on the river below.
Police revealed that information Monday regarding the death of Robert Espeseth, 58.
Investigators said he attempted to move from one side of the Hawthorne Bridge to the other shortly after 9 a.m. when he was hit by a car in the center of the bridge.
The Major Crash Team is investigating. Officers said Floyd Davidson, 70, was driving the car and speed and impairment were not factors in the crash.
