PORTLAND, OR (AP) -
Three people are behind bars after a simple traffic stop turned into a meth bust in northeast Portland.
It happened Monday night near Northeast 162nd Avenue and Fremont Street.
According to police, a deputy and his dog found three pounds of meth in the car and a gun in the trunk.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says two more pounds of meth were found in a hotel room rented by one of the suspects.
Deputies arrested Karen Johnson, Mark Smith and Michael Smith on drug-related charges.
All three have been charged with delivery of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.
Deputies are still investigating.
