PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The new-look Trail Blazers take the court Wednesday night at the Rose Garden for the first game of the regular season.

The Blazers face the Los Angeles Lakers at 7:30 p.m.

A flurry of offseason moves included hiring Neil Olshey as general manager, Terry Stotts as head coach and on Monday appointing Chris McGowan as the team's president and chief executive officer.

The Blazers finished last season with a record of 28-38 and missed the playoffs.

This season, the team will feature a new starting point guard, rookie Damian Lillard, taken sixth overall in the NBA Draft. Returning starters include forwards Nicolas Batum, signed in the offseason to a new contract, all-star LaMarcus Aldridge and guard Wesley Matthews.

The team's opening night opponent also has a new look, as the Lakers compiled a star-studded roster in the offseason acquiring guard Steve Nash and center Dwight Howard.
