
The public is urged to avoid contact with Oak Creek while crews scramble to repair a broken pipe that is leaking in southwest Portland.
The rupture happened near the intersection of SW Palatine Street and SW 33rd Avenue. Since the leak was discovered around 12 p.m. Thursday, crews estimate five gallons per minute of sewage have run into the creek.
Oak Creek flows northeast into Arnold Creek which empties into Tryon Creek. The public is asked to stay out of Oak Creek in the area near SW 33rd Avenue and Palatine Street until the sewage leak is repaired.
