PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police arrested 32-year-old Bronwynn Kauffman in connection with an attempted burglary in southwest Portland. Police say she is the getaway driver and that more arrests are possible as they continue to investigate.

The search for a burglary suspect caused Wilson High School and Mary Rieke Elementary School to go into lockdown mode Friday.

Officers said they received a report of a homeowner chasing off a burglar from a home in the 6400 block of Southwest Burlingame Place.

Police established a large neighborhood perimeter, then used a K-9 to search the area.

As a precaution, the two southwest Portland schools went into lockdown.

The burglar is described as white, 25 years old and 6'2" with a thin build. He has black hair, wore a black bomber jacket, blue jeans and carried a backpack.
