Truck hauling hamburger erupts in flames on I-84

COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, OR (KPTV) -

A truck hauling hamburger crashed and erupted in flames on Interstate 84 Tuesday.

Police said it happened at the eastbound exit to Benson State Park at milepost 31 at 5:45 p.m.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the truck on fire and said there were explosions after the crash.

The offramp to Benson State Park was shut down, as was the right lane of the highway. All I-84 lanes were open again by 7 p.m., but the offramp remained closed at that time.

There is no word yet if the driver of the truck is hurt or what led to the crash.
