OLYMPIA, WA (KPTV/AP) -
There's a winner in Washington state's race for governor, and FOX 12 political analyst Tim Hibbitts says it's Democrat Jay Inslee.
Hibbitts made the projection Wednesday morning, saying it was a "narrow win, but a clear win."
The two candidates have been competing in one of the most watched and most expensive gubernatorial races in the country, with the campaigns and outside political groups raising and spending some $40 million in the race.
Washington has a recent history of competitive gubernatorial races. Most notably, current Gov. Chris Gregoire won the 2004 race by a mere 133 votes after two recounts and a court challenge.
Elsewhere in Washington election results, voters approved legalizing marijuana, but there's still no winner in Washington's gay marriage measure.
