GLADSTONE, OR (KPTV) -
Susan Campbell, one of three suspects accused of taking part in the killing of a Gladstone woman in 2011, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea deal Friday morning.
Campbell has not yet been sentenced, and details of her plea agreement that resulted in a guilty plea to attempted aggravated murder were not released.
In addition to pleading guilty to attempted aggravated murder, Campbell also pleaded guilty to a drug charge relating to a case from Jan. 1, 2011.
Campbell, her son, Jason Jaynes, and ex-Gladstone police sergeant Lynn Benton are all accused in the murder-for-hire plot that led to the death of Debbie Higbee-Benton in May 2011.
Higbee-Benton's brother told FOX 12 on Friday that his family is doing the best they can as court documents reveal more information about his sister's murder.
Lynn Benton, meanwhile, has been transferred from the Clackamas County Jail to the Marion County Jail for security reasons.
