PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The southbound lanes of I-205 at Airport Way were closed for hours this morning after a fuel tanker truck carrying more than 1500 gallons of gasoline rolled over.
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. A Portland Fire and Rescue spokesman says a small amount of fuel leaked from the trucks 'saddle' tanks.
An Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman said hazmat crews were very cautious as they used large tow trucks to upright the tanker, to try and keep more fuel from spilling.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
By 4:15 a.m. the truck was resting on its side blocking all southbound lanes of I-205 and the situation continued to cause delays throughout the morning.
The driver of the truck was not hurt. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
