BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -
A crash in Beaverton cut the power to plenty of homes Monday afternoon
Police said a Jeep Cherokee veered off the roadway and hit a power pole, shearing it in half, at Southwest Ninth and Tucker Avenue.
After hitting the pole, the Jeep crashed into a fire hydrant. The driver and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
PGE sent crews out to replace the pole and repair the damages.
By 3:30 p.m., PGE's website reported more than 100 customers without power. Traffic in the area was blocked while repair work was being done.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
