PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A former Portland police officer will avoid trial after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.
As part of a plea deal reached last month former officer Scott Elliott pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography.
Deputies arrested Elliott last spring for online corruption of a child and luring a minor. Elliott resigned from the force back in May following an investigation into the charges.
He faces up to 20 years in prison and will be sentenced in February.
