PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are performing at the Rose Garden Wednesday night, but the band's drummer got in some practice first on the streets of downtown Portland.

Chad Smith sent out a message and photo on Twitter to his nearly 200,000 followers. It showed him with his drumsticks playing on a set of upside down buckets in downtown.

His message said: "Warming up on the streets of Portland..bakaww!"

It's not clear if lead singer Anthony Kiedis or bassist Flea were anywhere nearby at the time. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
