JEFFERSON, OR (KPTV) -
A five-alarm fire tore through a business in Jefferson overnight.
Firefighters were called to Columbia Spas, Inc. at 1827 Talbot Rd. SE at 12:19 a.m. Thursday. Flames had completely engulfed the 25,000-square-foot building by the time crews arrived at the scene, and neighbors reported hearing multiple explosions.
Firefighters said the fire threatened multiple buildings, including a nearby mobile home park. Deputies began evacuating people in the park at 12:43 a.m. and led them to a shelter at Jefferson High School.
Pacific Power workers were also called to the scene to repair power lines that were damaged by the fire. Fox 12 viewers reported losing power in the area.
Firefighters deemed the situation under control at 2:30 a.m.
The cause is not yet known, and there are no reports of any injuries.
The Jefferson School District was put on a two-hour delay Thursday morning due to the fire.
