Burglars nabbed after running from police

CLARK COUNTY, WA (KPTV) -

Two suspected burglars were arrested after running from Clark County police.

Around 11 a.m. Friday in the Truman neighborhood near Northeast 51st and Northeast 40th, a caller reported that two suspicious men were walking around houses and carrying backpacks.

But, when a deputy arrived to investigate, police said the pair took off running. In their wake, police reported finding a window that looked like it had been entered from the outside and a number of items that had been dumped out of one of the backpacks.

That's when police brought a K-9 unit onto the scene. After picking up a scent, the dog caught up with one of the suspects around the 5000 block of Northeast 52nd Street. After his apprehension, the suspect was treated at a hospital for a bite from the K-9.

Later, police said the second suspect was spotted walking through the neighborhood.
