Man sentenced in park ranger attack

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A judge sentenced the man who attacked two park rangers to five years in prison on Tuesday.

Patrick O'Donnell must also wear a GPS tracker at all times and stay away from parks and his victims.

He pled guilty to two attempted assault charges.

If his probation gets revoked, O'Donnell could spend almost five years in prison.

Last November, two park rangers responded to a call of a man in Forest Park exposing himself.

As rangers approached him, O'Donnell pulled out a knife with a 6-inch blade.

No one was stabbed, but there was a struggle.

O'Donnell and one of the rangers fell down a 70-foot embankment.

He ended up in the hospital for a broken pelvis.
