A fresh blanket of snow at Mt. Hood means local ski resorts are opening their doors for the holiday weekend.
Mt. Hood Meadows announced Wednesday it will be open Thanksgiving day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Four lifts will be running.
A foot of fresh snow brought the base to nearly three feet.
The current forecast is calling for anywhere from 18 to 30 inches of snow by Thanksgiving Day.
Timberline Ski Area also announced the opening of its lower mountain ski trails.
Eleven inches of snow fell there on Monday night, bringing the base total to 27 inches, and the slopes are groomed up.
The ski area is open seven days a week and will be transitioning to regular 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. winter hours of operation starting on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Mt. Bachelor also has plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. The resort announced it will be opening for the winter season Thursday, Nov. 22.
