Police: Deadly Woodland crash result of medical issue

Posted: Updated:
WOODLAND, WA (KPTV) -

Police believe a medical issue caused a man to run off the road and into a tree, ending his life.

At about 11 a.m. Wednesday, Woodland police responded to a one-car accident at the 900 block of Goerig Street. Once on scene, first responders found the sole occupant of the car unresponsive. The driver, a 69-year-old man from Raymond, WA, was taken immediately to Southwest Medical Center, but was pronounced dead once he arrived.

Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash at this time. But, they believe the driver suffered an unknown medical condition just before colliding with the tree.
