FOREST GROVE, OR (KPTV) -

A man is accused of driving with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit before a crash that sent three people to the hospital near Forest Grove.

Deputies said it happened at 11 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses said a row of cars were traveling below the speed limit on Northwest Martin Road because of thick fog and a wet roadway.

The last car of the group was following closely, and the driver attempted to pass all three of the cars in front of him at a high rate of speed, according to deputies.

The car went off the road and collided with a barn and power pole.

The driver, Ronald Bryant, 28, of Portland, was taken to the hospital. He was treated and released along with one passenger. Another passenger who was in the front seat, Shayla Helm, 21, suffered numerous broken bones, according to deputies .

Bryant was arrested on charges of felony assault and DUII. Deputies said there will be additional charges in this case.

The road was closed for more than four hours after the crash.
