GASTON, OR (KPTV) -
Fifteen children were on board a school bus when an empty pickup truck rolled down a hill and slammed into it Monday morning in Gaston.
The collision closed Front Street at Park Street in Gaston starting at around 8:40 a.m.
Washington County deputies said a 12-year-old student suffered injuries that were considered minor. Parents took that student to the hospital. No children were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The kids on board ranged in age from 6 years old to 17. They were transferred to another bus and taken the remaining two blocks to the Gaston school campus on Park Street.
Authorities said the pickup was unoccupied and rolled down a hill before it struck the bus.
There's no word yet on whether any citations will be issued.
