Former school library aid guilty in sexual delinquency case

Posted: Updated:

A former school library aid accused of sex abuse involving a student has pleaded guilty to amended charges.

Heidi Hyre pleaded guilty in court to charges of delivery of a controlled substance to a minor and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. All other charges against her were dismissed as part of the plea deal.

Hyre had worked in the library at South Albany High School for four years. She was arrested in May and accused of having sexual contact with one student and sending sexually explicit texts to that boy and two others.

In court right after her arrest, Hyre said she was married with kids in college. She also addressed the courtroom saying she was scared to be in jail and just wanted to go home to be with her family.

Her sentencing is set for Jan. 25, 2013.
