PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The Oregon Zoo expects something big to happen this week involving Rose Tu, the pregnant elephant.
Zoo workers said she hasn't started labor yet, but they believe it could begin anytime. Of course, once it starts, it could still be some time before the baby elephant arrives.
The zoo's medical staff said when Rose Tu gave birth for the first time in 2008, she was in labor for 30 hours.
Her pregnancy is progressing as the zoo had hoped. Her target due date has always been November or December.
