PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police say two Monday night robberies and a similar attempted robbery could be connected.

First, workers at a Subway restaurant on North Lombard reported that a man with a ski mask and a gun came in and demanded money at around 7:45 Monday night.

The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in a dark-colored SUV, according to police.

While investigating that robbery, officers received a call of an attempted robbery that happened at Tienda Santa Cruz on North Lombard Street.

Police said possibly the same person that robbed the Subway tried to rob Tienda Santa Cruz just prior to the incident at the Subway.

Then, just after 8 p.m., officers responded to another report of an armed robbery at the McDonald's restaurant on Northwest Yeon Avenue.

Police said the robber ran out the door with an undisclosed amount of money, and possibly left the area in a dark-colored SUV.

Officers said the person that robbed the Subway was a man of unknown race, 5'2" and with a thin build.

Witnesses told police that the person who robbed the McDonald's as similar the culprit from the Subway.

However, police said that the person who targeted the McDonald's could be a woman.

As of Tuesday morning, officers were working to get surveillance videos from the crime scenes.
