HAMMOND, OR (KPTV) -
The Coast Guard rescued two boaters from the jetty at Hammond Marina, in Hammond, OR, today.
After receiving a report of boaters in distress around 10 a.m. Thursday morning, two Coast Guard vessels and one helicopter responded to the west jetty of Hammond Marina to find a pair of boaters trying to save their skiff. High surf had disabled their 15-foot skiff and they were doing what they could to salvage it as it bashed into the rocks of the jetty.
One of the responding Coast Guard vessels managed to tow the skiff to safety while the boaters walked down the jetty to shore.
