OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -
A burning ODOT truck led crews to shut down Interstate 205 southbound Wednesday in Oregon City.
Around 6:30 a.m., an ODOT incident response car arrived at the scene of a minor crash that was blocking the southbound offramp to Highway 213, also known as the Park Place interchange.
The driver of the ODOT truck parked in one lane of the freeway and got out to speak with an Oregon state trooper already on scene. As he was walking back to the truck, he saw it was on fire.
The trooper cleared the first crash scene, then circled back to block southbound lanes.
The ODOT truck's flares and canisters of gasoline, normally used to help stranded drivers, contributed to the intensity of the fire. Clackamas and Gladstone firefighters responded to put out the flames.
Two lanes of the highway reopened about 30 minutes later, but a big backup remained as rush hour got under way.
No one was injured in the fire.
