Killer's re-sentencing rescheduled for December

WILSONVILLE, OR (KPTV) -

A local family must wait a little longer to find out the fate of the man who killed their loved one.

Todd Davilla murdered Lisa Flormoe in 1991 and received a life sentence for the crime.

The ruling has been disputed because Davilla was charged as an adult even though he was 16 years old when he committed the crime.

He was in court on Wednesday to be re-sentenced, but both arguments took so long to present that the judge decided to recess for a few weeks.

Members of Flormoe's family spoke passionately about their frustrations with the court system.

"I've struggled through the years finding a way to live with this and have some happiness with my life, going back and forth to court nearly every year or so," said Lorna Flormoe, the victim's sister. "And then a decade and a half later, Todd Davilla's rights are being violated? What?!"

The judge will issue Davilla's new sentence on Dec. 19.
