Occupy Portland is making an anti-greed statement this holiday season, but they're doing it by giving instead of protesting.
Occupy Portland is giving away 100 free Christmas trees to people in need around Portland. The trees will be available starting at 11 a.m. Friday at Southeast 125th Avenue near Division Street.
The trees are from farms in Sandy and Estacada and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until they're all gone.
The group said they do more than just protest and this initiative is part of Occupy Portland's crusade against greed during the holidays, especially after the rush of people flocking to stores on Black Friday.
